The AW5500 outdoor speaker equipped with Definitive Technology’s Balanced Double Surround System (BDSS) driver pressure-coupled to racetrack Planar Low Bass Radiator, provides a wide-bandwidth accurate frequency response, broad dispersion, low distortion, and detail retrieval for clear, high-definition reproduction of vocals and instruments. Each speaker features a fully sealed (air- and water-tight) design, aluminum grilles, and rugged PolyStone enclosure that allows it to be fully exposed to the elements and still reliably deliver their indoor speaker sound quality for years of outdoor listening enjoyment. The included galvanized steel mounting brackets give 360-degree placement flexibility, and they can also be removed for ease of positioning on a shelf or table in an outdoor area.

The Definitive Technology AW 6500 puts worry about sound quality and speaker resilience to rest with fully sealed speakers that perform wonderfully rain or shine. Its BDSS driver coupled to the racetrack-shaped, pressure-driven low bass radiator, and pure aluminum dome tweeter provide an accurate reproduction of vocals and instruments and rich, deep lows while limiting distortion. The speaker’s air and water-tight design and non-resonant, rugged PolyStone enclosures allow it to be fully exposed to the elements and still reliably deliver indoor speaker sound quality for years of outdoor listening enjoyment. Integrated galvanized steel mounting brackets and unique enclosure shape ensure a full 360 degrees of rotation. The speakers can be placed just about anywhere while directing the audio to reach everywhere.
The AW5500 features a 5.25″ woofer and the AW6500 has a 6.5″ woofer, with both having a 1″ tweeter and oval low bass radiator for full range sound reproduction across open spaces.
All-weather protection with fully sealed PolyStone exterior allows the speakers to withstand harsh weather conditions making them suitable for long-lasting outdoor use.
